Hello!
I'm Andy Allen, I'm a freelance Graphic Designer and Art Director based in London. I have been designing for print for over 20 years and can confidently say, there is not much I don't know about this process. Over the course of this time I have moved with technology into new areas of design and communication. I have created print magazines, digital magazines, web marketing, Wordpress content, event materials, motion graphics for social media and video editing.
I have been running my own business, Meant To Be Media Ltd. publishing within the wedding industry for the last 10 years. We have two main titles, Love Our Wedding, a digital magazine and website aimed at consumers (brides to be) and Wedding Trader, a business-to-business product, aimed at wedding boutiques and industry professionals across the UK.
Whilst working in the wedding industry, I've been fortunate enough to enjoy many press trips, reviewing hotels for honeymoon destinations both in the UK and around the world. Working closely with PR's and tourist boards, I love writing these promotional features and sometimes I combine my own photographs as well.
I have an excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Wordpress, Mailchimp and Canva. In the future, I would like to build on existing skills and continue to learn and develop as new opportunities and challenges lie ahead. I'm pro-active when it comes to new software and love gaining knowledge and solving technical problems.
In my spare time, I love being in the great outdoors. I keep myself fit and enjoy good food, cooking, music and travel. I have an allotment, a camper van, a fiancée and a pet pooch called Captain.
A random fact: If I had to go on Mastermind and pick a subject of expertise, it would be graffiti and street art from the late 60s onwards.
